The star has donated the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound award prize money to the MVT, which operates to protect the United Kingdom's small live music spots.

The star was awarded the prize on mid-October as his third album the album was declared the best record of the last 12 months.

Fender has opted to hand the money over to the trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function small stages had in his beginning days.

"I personally wouldn't be doing my current career if it wasn't for all the shows I played around the region, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," remarked Fender. "These venues are iconic, but they are in difficulty."

Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these locations have ceased operations – roughly 16% of the entire UK sector.

In the last year, well-known musicians including Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the MVT in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a minor surcharge to their ticket prices, which benefits independent venues.

Fender also joined in, generating more than £100,000 on his live tour to assist thirty-eight small stages across the UK.

The money helped locations that were facing possible closure due to challenges stemming from floods, fires and family tragedies, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and sound issues.

Additional spaces obtained financial assistance in modernizing amenities and gear that positively impacted artists and fans.

"The concept that funds from concerts in big venues supports the independent spots, where it all starts for performers like me, is just sensible," Fender has stated.

"Additionally, I donated a £1,000 to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was a child and they needed updated gear," the artist shared with a publication.

Two years ago, they donated their funds to the community center that nurtured their group, alongside other grassroots music organisations.

Also 1994 winners they contributed their prize to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was diagnosed the illness.

"The victory was sufficient," stated singer the singer. "The cash was the extra but we could do without the cherry, because we had the cake. So our winning touched somebody else's life."

Recently, the MVT shared it had rescued a couple of small stages in the South East, by bringing them into community ownership.

The first in Southampton and the second in the city were acquired under the public acquisition scheme, which is funded by the arts council and supporters who buy "shares" in the buildings.
